Installation requirements:
- An internet connection
- A power outlet
- A Wi-Fi solution
- Wired connections from the SO Connect In-Between Box to your Access Point Controller, Network Switch or Access Points.
- A Wi-Fi solution that supports Tagged VLAN settings.
- Access to the firewall of the pre-existing network as some ports may need to be adjusted.
IMPORTANT: If your Wi-Fi solution is not capable of managing Tagged VLAN settings, our service will be pushed over the entire existing network. This can cause problems for other systems that might be running on your network such as payment or camera systems. Doing so is at your own risk!

Our In-Between Box will be delivered to you preconfigured with the following settings:

Summary of installation:
- Preparing your Firewall
- Connecting the IBBL to the internet and power
- Setting up a WLAN/SSID profile with Tagged VLAN 35
- Connecting the IBBL to your Wi-Fi solution
- Testing the configuration
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Preparing your Firewall
Open the configuration page of your Firewall make the following adjustments to ensure our services to be able to work 100%.
Allow in and outward traffic to the following radius server IP's:
- Radius Authentication server 1: 87.233.181.54
- Radius Authentication server 2: 87.233.181.55
Port forwarding outward UDP:
- 52
- 123
- 1812
- 1813
Port forwarding Outward TCP:
- 80
- 443
2. Connect the IBBS to the internet and power
Internet
Connect the IBBS to the internet by plugging in any network cable from your network to the WAN port of the IBBS. Make sure that this network cable can feed an internet connection to the IBBS.
Power
Now connect the power cable from the power adapter to the power port on the IBBS. After this, plug the power adapter into the power outlet and wait at least 5 minutes for the IBBS to fully start up. The following green LED's will light up:
- Power
- Globe
- Wi-Fi 2.4G
- Wi-Fi 5G
- Door Lock.
When the Door Lock LED lights up, the IBBS is online and operational.
3. Preparing your Wi-Fi solution and WLAN profile with Tagged VLAN ID 35
Login to your Wi-Fi solution and create a WLAN/SSID profile that only processes Tagged VLAN35 traffic since this is what the IBBS will be offering to your network from its LAN ports. Also disable the password protection since the authentication process will be handled by the IBBS. In this way the Social Media login Portal will only be offered to guests that connect to this specific Wireless Network.
If you do not know how to make these adjustments, please contact the supplier of your Wi-Fi solution for help.
Important:
- It is possible to keep the password protection in place but keep in mind that this can influence the amount of logins over time.
- If your Wi-Fi solution does not support VLAN Tagging, it is still possible to use our services. How ever, our services will be pushed to all devices that are connected to your network. This can cause problems for other systems like your payment or camera system. Please contact our support department to have the necessary adjustments made remotely for your IBBS.
4. Connect the IBBS to your Wi-Fi solution
You can do this by connecting a network cable from your pre-existing Access Point Controller, Network Switch or Access Points directly into one or more of the yellow LAN ports of the IBBS.
The LAN ports are already preconfigured to offer Tagged VLAN 35 traffic to your network. This traffic will then be picked up and used by your previously configured WLAN/SSID profile. In this way the Social Media login Portal will only be offered to guests that connect to this specific Wireless Network.
5. Testing the configuration
When everything is set, try to connect to the Wireless Network. Upon connecting, you should be presented with a login splash page with the choice to log in with one of the Social Media platforms. Choose one of the platforms and finish the login process.
